A Christmas Shopping Story

I’m going to tell you a story. It happened. I know. I was there. It just might not have happened exactly the way I’m going to tell it. It’s been a while and memory… well memory is a bit on the flexible side. Not to mention some of the real facts are just plain boring, so I spiced them up a bit.

Once upon a time, some years ago, I left my Christmas shopping for the last minute.

Author to Author – H. T. Lyons

Author QuillHello and welcome back to another Author to Author interview.

This month, I have the great pleasure of sitting down with H. T. Lyons, a masterful spinner of tales who’s always looking into the future, seeing what could be, what should be and what might be. He doesn’t use crystal balls or tea leaves. He looks for trends and technology, using the art of logic to take what he sees now and project into the future.

Open Letter to Donald Trump

This is an open letter to the president elect. He called for advice from those of us who didn’t support him, this is my contribution.

rainbow-cloudsDear President Trump,

No, I take that back. There is nothing dear about you right now.

Mister Trump,

I’ve also left out the “president” part, because I cannot accept you as my representative or leader. All the nice words you said in your acceptance speech about coming together and being one nation don’t make up for all the hate and divisiveness you spouted on the campaign trail.

Author to Author: Kalen Cap

Author QuillIn my monthly series here, I’ve been delighted to interview some up and coming authors. Next up is Kalen Cap. Kalen not only writes delightfully complex novels, but is active in other areas. It makes it all the more special that he spared some time to sit down and answer a few of my questions.

Without further ado, I’d like to welcome Kalen Cap.

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is, for some like me, a sacred holiday. For one month – 30 days – I put writing first. It’s all about getting the new words on the page. It’s about letting my ideas drive me. It’s about putting aside the other responsibilities of life and living the life of a writer.

Author to Author: Xiran Jay

Author QuillThis month, I got to sit down with a fascinating and very busy author: Xiran Jay. Xiran writes YA and hopes to increase the diversity of that genre. Xiran wants to make YA literature as diverse as the “Turn Down for What” music video. When not writing, Xiran is a Life Sciences university student. I’m very honored to have gotten a few moments of this author’s time.

Without further ado… Xiran Jay

Thank you for taking the time to talk with me.
